You are not alone. Of note is that triathletes are mentioned in this article, they of course are a very minor sport as far as the Olympics here are concerned. At least they did not have to swim in the witches brew at the Jinzhou (Bijiashan) triathlon!

11 days gone, baby Victor is doing well. Still yellow and still not smiling. However according to here he may not smile until end of month 2. hmm. Others started smiling as soon as they left the hospital!
Click here to see current set of pix and filums. Ever growing, just like baby!

Something completely different as I wait for the next baby event to occur (he is sleeping nicely thank you very much 😀 ) I went to check the four Ps (Paul, Paul, Piers and Pierre) that did La Ruta (de los Conquistadores) at the beginning of this month.
Piers seems to have been in brilliant form, finishing 26th! Well done Piers! Paul Kelly finished no78 which given the course is quite incredible. To show how hard it is, Pierre Geagea and Paul Reyburn were both DNF(?). I have been out of things lately so I don’t know what happened to them. I hope I will find out. Check here and here for some info on the ride!
Check out this story with Paul Reyburn’s take on why we do these strange things. Thanks Pierre for sending out the link! And glad you are still with us 😀

11/11/2006 – 8:53PM Beijing time. A little boy was delivered by Caesarian. 3.53 K, not very big. Still no name.. Coming along.. For those of you who are interested there is a film up of the new baby and mother! (**very rough edit**)

For those of you who stumble across this site and happen to know who we actually are 🙂 well Echo’s water bag broke this afternoon. Cesarian section most likely in a few hours, I am rushing off to hospital to see what I can do, apart from looking anxious and feeling like strangling doctors.
If you feel like naming a baby boy here is your chance 🙂 (slim, admittedly!)

This is some sort of folklore infested tourist restaurant. A Xinjiang flamenco band was making our eardrums bleed. It has been around for a long time but today was our first time there. And it will be our last! It is on the West Gate of Nuren Jie (Super Bar Street, not very super), near the flower market, and is usually quite crowded, normally a good sign.
We only had two dishes, one is the usual Kao Nang with mutton in a tomato sauce. The mutton is OK, the tomato sauce out of a tin with lots of oil. The vegetable dish was cooked ok but had LOTS of MSG and sugar to make it taste nice.
100 RMB for this, one beer and one yang rou chuanr. Forget it! Any of the small hole in the wall Xinjiang places can do better than that.
