Bashang weekend pictures
- After a small hiatus, we have some more!! The weekend of the 9-10 of August
(starting on Friday in fact), did a small adventure thingy to the 'inner
Mongolian' grasslands aka Bashang. But this was much better, bicoze à
vélo! Une petite promenade de santé sur 95K, et un dénivelé
qui a bien du avoisiner les 1000 metres ou plus (en tout, en montée!).
Crevette,
with lice lobster colored legs :D
- SO, departure at 6PM sharp (about as sharp as the knife that cut that
poor sheep) on Friday from the Peasants Exhibition Hall here in Beijing.
No implements of agriculture of great interest on display, so we choose
to load up our bikes instead. 20+ of us, the fun bus (sort of like a diesel
cattle coach with hard seats that ruin your knees and give your saddle sores
a good workout, but I thought this time round it was bouncing about a bit
less?). Get to the hotel at 3AM. Ouch. This
is what we look like when 'awake'
in the morning.
- So off we go, rien
de bien grave pour le moment, juste
des belles vues. Mais bon, on passe les détails, voici déja
la 1ere montée, enfin,
le résultat, difficile de filmer en grimpant! Dave,
King of the Mountain. The God of Lightning was looking the other way
:D
- The
group of girls that defied the hills, who said MTB was a macho sport?
- Down to our lunch spot. Digestion
proved difficult, even the bikes were sleeping..
- Heureusement
ya la place pour les pauses-pipi. Les petites
balades, euh, je veux dire les
longues balades, ya vraiment de la place quoi, puis c'est
quand meme bo!
- Now, off hand, you
would trust this donkey, no? Not
in this world you don't! Get out
the jiujitsu moves, and tame that mare, admire the skill and bravery!
Nasty
donkey's now quite placid.
- No pics of the camp, just movies, will have to do the editing. much to
do.. So we move on to day 2. Short
and sharp. Well, certainly
sharp, then some more for gluttons of punishment, ouais, bon, MOB=Masochists
Of Beijing, probably :P
- So here we are (still) on the top. Some
are still getting there, a bit steep, what? Some are already doing
botanical research, and have found the famed JiuCai
of Mongolia. This grass you eat, it's like wild onion. The other one
was found as well :-Q.
- But
with views like this, you really don't want to leave. snif. do zobaczenia,
na razie, tot stroks, bis bald, zaijian. c'est
quand qu'on revient? Oh, the way down was quite hairy :D We were up
at around 2000 metres?
