Sorry :-(

Sweaty people doing the swim, bike run thang. The Hilton sprint Triathlon in Beijing in August 2005. Fun! maybe..

Sweat and tears. Luckily no blood, but lots of toil.

Some pictures from April 2005 to be found here with me and a colleague Brian at the Jinshanling-Simatai Great Wall. Good fun! Very nice place, much better than Circus Maximus Badaling.

I have a lot of stuff, but although my work is IT, I spend little time updating this site. Why? Well I like to do other things besides IT all the time! So you will find lots of pix of Mountain-biking, running, activities in and around China, and quite a few films as well.

2005-04-09 Check out this pic (9MB !! Quicktime VR) of the area around HuangYaGuan Great Wall. Known as Garbage Hill. This is just inside Tianjin province, about 120K from Beijing. Beautiful area, disfigured by a horrific garbage dump. Kaleidoscope of colours from the plastic bags. Surreal and sad. Here is a smaller version (only 450KB, also QT VR)

Oddly enough I am getting picked up by Googlers searching for 'Donkey' and 'creamy pie'. You will find a donkey here, but no creamy pies, bande de sauvages.

So, wassup? If you have lots of time to waste you can go to Hainan, but be careful. Haikou is crap, beaches are polluted and you get ripped off. Sanya is '5 star' (yeah, pull the other one) strip joint and tropical golf clubs. At least the sea is ok, just zillions of black plastic bags floating in it, and jellyfish, presumably bcoz everything else has been killed off. Still, the (now defunct) Sanya triathlon that was held there was very good. I hope it comes back!. It will, in the form of the Hainan Ironman (and 70.3 as well :-). Hope to be there in April 2008?

Take a look at this. Where is the bike?Click on it to find out where the bike is hiding. Hainan is a nice place for winter bike bike training. This was in January 2005. Trying to get ready for an Ironman. hmm. not quite yet. knees refuse to cooperate. och well. next one up for grabs will be either IM Western OZ or IM Korea.. Currently eyeing Hainan 1/2 Ironman.

Training hard, doing these kind of things. hmm. not sure if that is useful, but anyways. 2005-04-10 will be the Beijing Ekiden, will see what happens then, running the last leg.

So I have been very busy with these people and so most of my (very very old) images are actually to be found here

Lots of sillyness around New Year time. There was not much exception to this one. It was pretty good fun. Also took part in a fund raising thingy for this girl called Jia Jia.

For your info, I can be seen here this is a recent one 2004-10-23!! I was taking part in the Beijing Great Wall Bicycle Festival. My bike is behind me, unfortunately I am mostly hair on the pic..The Ellsworth Moment is a *particularly* nice bike, and if ever you are looking for a MTB that you can throw a nuclear bomb at, try this one out. Esp for cross country or the new fad name "all-mountain". It *does not* climb like a mountain goat on little green pills, but it goes like f*ck if you have power and is just incredibly stable and comfortable on quite rough stuff. As you can see, I like this bike. Thanx to the guys at Flying Ball in HongKong for putting this together, et Julien, merci encore! Once I get my act together I will post a bike page..
